ChangeUs — Civic Engagement Platform

Built and launched a patent-pending civic AI platform that maps a person's concern to the government officials responsible for it and helps them take the next step.

Designed the matching pipeline around a 20-category NLP classifier, a five-criterion entity matcher, and precision guards that reject expired or unsupported officials. Google Search-grounded Gemini powers the primary path, with a provider abstraction and fallback behind it.

A two-layer LLM cache reduced API calls by about 80%, while metrics-driven iteration moved the match rate from 0% to roughly 80%. The production stack includes FastAPI, Next.js 15, PostgreSQL, WebSocket streaming, OAuth, encrypted BYOK credentials, Stripe billing, and 200+ automated tests.
